Paris Inspired Interior Design

It could be an Audrey Hepburn film. American girl in the 1950s goes to Paris, where she meets and marries Europe's best-known equestrian. Eighteen years later, they move to Pebble Beach on the California coast and build a small but elegant home in the suburban Paris style they love.
The sequel begins in 2004. The couple's heirs want to honor the French legacy of the home, but they need more space, more efficiency. "The house was built for two people, not for our growing family," says the homeowner.
A friend recommended designer Betty Burgess, whose passion for European classicism deepened during her own sojourn in France. She and architect Richard Barrett would team up to give the Paris-inspired Pebble Beach home a stunning rebirth.
Barrett appreciated the original structure's Gallic inspiration: "Its hip-roofed pavilion with small wings in a basic U shape is standard French." But to accommodate his clients, he took the house down to its frame, expanded the wings and made other changes such as adding antique limestone flooring from an old French château and installing Asselin doors and windows, also from France. To endow the exterior with a more tailored look, he replaced the roof with fine, lighter-colored slate from Salamanca, Spain.
The homeowner, who directed the renovation, welcomed good ideas, even when they entailed last-minute changes. She wanted a modern edge with a distinct ambiance in different parts of the house. As a result, the common rooms at its core present a formal-traditional look, while a more rustic scheme prevails in the family room and kitchen.
The home's master bath offers a real surprise — what Barrett calls "minimalist modern" style — inspired by the Hôtel Le Bristol in Paris. "It's my favorite room," says the owner. "With all that marble and white linen, it's like being in a cloud. The light is so beautiful."
For the overall palette, Burgess chose grey, pairing it with taupe, white and black accents — and even chocolate and a bit of orange for the son's bedroom. "Grey goes with everything," Burgess says, "and it's calm. We wanted the whole house to feel peaceful, to have texture. Grey captures the natural colors of the coast along Pebble Beach. It also showcases the home's remarkable antiques and artwork without competing."
The design reflects the meticulous attention paid to details large and small, from hidden electrical cords to hand-waxed Venetian plaster walls to well-spaced, hand-hewn eighteenth-century ceiling beams. Burgess even measured the creamware and faience purchased for the client to make sure a custom glass-front cabinet could accommodate them. In the kitchen and master bath, Carrara marble walls line up perfectly so that veins continue from slab to slab — a painstaking effort that took two months to install.
"I had no idea what we were getting into," the owner says. "The renovation became a project with essentially no budget, but it had the absolute best outcome — high-quality materials and craftsmanship. Each room is a little jewel."

Green Kitchen Design

The kitchen is one of the most important room in the house. That’s where you and your family spend a large piece of time, and could become a showcase for your design sensibilities. If you become environmentally friendly materials and are concerned about the planet’s resources, green kitchen design is perfect for you. Kitchen design that is easy on the eyes, and the earth. Green building products offers a choice of stylish and functional design is pleasant to the eye and to the environment. When remodeling the kitchen, home owners can easily integrate environmentally-friendly materials into various fields. Green is one of the most versatile color when painting. One can use a gentle tone to the environment if not encouraged to take risks, or go with everything and play with a strong and warm tone. I invite you to view the gallery kitchen painted green, in various colors and styles for all to find some ideas that will help, and view tables, islands, tables, chairs and lights, very original.

Britney Spears New House in Hidden Hills, California

Britney Spears is moving into a new house in Hidden Hills, California. Many people are saying that Britney Spears bought this house that once was listed for $18,9000.000 and then reduced to $12,900.000, but some reports are also speculating that she’s leasing this ultra-luxurious mansion for $25.000/month. The fact is, Britney Spears is moving, and that will make some people happy (her old neighbors) and some upset (the new neighbors).
Britney Spears’ new house is big. Really big. With 9,107 square feet, 10 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, a tennis court, swimming pool with grotto, multiple hot tubs,  two staff apartments, private guest quarters, a huge and elegant ballroom, wine cellar, chef’s kitchen, games room and I will stop here because I don’t want you to get tired, the list is long!

So, who else lives in this very private community of Hidden Hills? None other than Jennifer Lopez , Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Melissa Etheridge, the Kardashians and Lisa Marie Presley, who just sold her house there. What attract this many celebrities to this place is how private and secluded from the paparazzi it is, since this community is fully equipped with its own supermarket, restaurants and its own Starbucks (of course). So, now we know why Britney Spears chose this house.

I’m not very sure about this room. It feels too busy.

Spacious.

Very elegant.
Family Room
The decor is a bit too formal again. Gorgeous chandelier.

My opinion? Way too masculine and cluttered. I can’t picture Spears here. I hope she hires a good interior designer to lighten up this space for her.

I’m not a fan of the flooring but I like the wood paneling.

Having fun by the ballroom.

Britney Spears’ New Bedroom
It seems this will be Britney’s master bedroom.

I’m sure Britney will have some fun time here with her kids and friends.

Beautiful sunken tennis court.

Maybe Britney didn’t care much about the indoors, since the outdoor is the selling point of this property.

This pool is really stunning.

Very private and quite romantic.
